Viral Marketers, New Infrastructure

A LinkedIn posting for Head of Viral Marketing at Beast Industries triggered a flood of applicants and a larger industry shake-up.

This wasn’t a social role. It was a signal. Beast is professionalizing virality, treating attention as infrastructure, not luck. The goal: build systems that turn culture into customer acquisition and revenue.

The bar was high, as they request 10+ years of experience, fluency in social mechanics, and the ability to scale influence beyond a single personality.

Beast isn’t alone. Across industries, brands are formalizing creator-driven and cultural growth teams, redefining how attention is built, owned, and deployed.

And as virality becomes something you can engineer, the next question emerges:
What happens when technology starts engineering the faces, bodies, and images that carry that attention?

Fashionably Tech-Foward

H&M is already testing the answer. As New York Fashion Week nears and attention cycles accelerate, the brand is experimenting with AI-generated model twins for social-first campaigns.

The move reflects a broader shift in fashion marketing faster production, scalable imagery, and reimagined creative workflows.

It hasn’t come without tension. Critics point to the impact on photographers, stylists, and other behind-the-scenes creatives. Adaptation is inevitable, and the debate is ongoing.

Notably, H&M has emphasized consent and compensation. Models retain ownership of their digital likenesses and are paid as they would be for traditional usage, a rare bright spot as generative AI moves deeper into consumer-facing campaigns.

The question now isn’t whether AI belongs in fashion marketing, it’s how brands balance innovation, ethics, and the future of creative work.
